What is a CSR?
Congratulations on purchasing an SSL Certificate. One of the first steps you need to take now is to generate a CSR. But what is a CSR anyway?
CSR stands for Certificate Signing Request. So when you generate a CSR, you are generating a message to a certificate authority (an organization that issues digital certificates) in order to apply for a digital identity certificate (sometimes called a public key certificate).
Creating your CSR is the first step in securing your webserver with SSL and gaining access to https.
Certificate Signing Request instructions are available for the web servers listed below.
